Accessibility
This portal follows the standard digital identity model of the federal government, which complies with key web accessibility recommendations. Accessibility means including people with disabilities in activities such as using products, services, and accessing information. Examples include buildings with wheelchair ramps and restrooms adapted for individuals with disabilities.
On the internet, accessibility primarily refers to the recommendations of the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) by the W3C and, in the case of the Brazilian Government, the e-MAG (Electronic Government Accessibility Model). The e-MAG aligns with international guidelines but establishes specific accessibility standards for government websites.
At the top of the portal, there is an accessibility bar featuring standardized navigation shortcuts and an option to adjust the contrast. These tools are available on all pages of the portal.
The federal government’s shortcut standards are:
- Pressing Alt + 1 on any page of the portal will take you directly to the beginning of the main content of the page.
- Pressing Alt + 2 on any page of the portal will take you directly to the main menu.
- Pressing Alt + 3 on any page of the portal will take you directly to the internal search.
- Pressing Alt + 4 on any page of the portal will take you directly to the columns of links and the page footer.
For Firefox, instead of Alt + number, press Alt + Shift + number simultaneously.
For Firefox on Mac OS, press Ctrl + Alt + number simultaneously instead of Alt + Shift + number.
For Opera, the keys are Shift + Escape + number. Pressing just Shift + Escape will bring up a window displaying all ACCESSKEY alternatives on the page.
At the end of this text, you can download files that explain accessibility in greater detail and how it should be implemented on websites.
